Narrow fabrics or tubular fabrics are made from various yarns as raw materials. There are a wide variety of belt fabrics, which are widely used in various industrial sectors such as clothing, shoe materials, luggage, industry, agriculture, military supplies, and transportation. In the 1930s, webbing was all produced by hand workshops, with cotton thread and linen thread as raw materials. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, the raw materials for webbing gradually developed to include nylon, vinylon, polyester, polypropylene, spandex, viscose, etc., forming three major types of weaving techniques: weaving, braided and knitted. The fabric structures include plain weave, twill weave, satin weave, jacquard weave, double-layer, multi-layer, tubular and combined weave.

Woven tape raw material: Polyester (PET)

1. Wear-resistant.

2. Poor water absorption, with a standard moisture regain of 0.4% (at 20℃ and a relative humidity of 65%, 100g of polyester absorbs 0.4g of water).

3. It is prone to static electricity and pilling.

4. Resistant to acid but not to alkali. Note: A certain concentration of alkali destroys the surface of polyester at a certain temperature, making the fabric feel soft.

5. It has relatively good corrosion resistance and light resistance.

Fabrics made of polyester fibers are not prone to wrinkling, have good dimensional stability, and are easy to wash and dry quickly.

Polyester spinning

1. FDY (Filament) : Single fibers are parallel, smooth and uniform, and are classified into bright, semi-bright, matte and semi-bright types, with the brightness gradually decreasing.

2. DTY (Elastic Filament) : Single-fiber bent, low stretchability, fluffy, as shown in the figure.

3. DTY network filament (low-elasticity network filament) : It has phased network points, which increase the bundling ability between fibers (it is divided into no web, light web, medium web, and heavy web, among which the heavy web can be used as a pulp-free filament).

Under normal circumstances, FDY and DTY must be sizing or twisted before they can be used as warp threads.

Sizing: Increase the amount of silk thread; The binding force between fibers; Make the surface of the fibers smooth to facilitate weaving.

Twist: Increase; Increase the cohesion between fibers; Give the fabric a crepe effect.

Twist: (T) The number of twists per unit centimeter of silk thread.

4. POY (Pre-oriented filament) : It can be stretched but not respringable. It cannot be used alone as warp or weft and must be combined with other filaments. It can be stretched 1.6 times. POY filament is a semi-finished product of low-elasticity network filament. Typical fabric: Washed velvet.

5. ATY(Air Deformation Wire) : The surface is not smooth and has loops. Typical fabric: Tower velvet

6. Polyester staple fiber: It is made by twisting multiple short fibers along the axial direction.

7. Polyester bamboo joint filament: It is made by twisting long filaments and low-elasticity filaments, and the spinning speed is slow.

8. High elasticity filament: High stretchability and high fluffiness.

9. Cationic polyester filament: It can produce a two-color effect with ordinary polyester filament, is easy to dye and has bright colors.

NYLON (PA) or NYLON (N) :

1. Very good, even better than steel wires of the same fineness.

2. It has excellent wear resistance, surpassing other textile fibers, and is suitable for making sportswear, socks, parachutes, and cables.

3. Poor water absorption, with a rated moisture regain of 4%, prone to static electricity, pilling and fuzzing.

4. Resistant to alkali but not acid, it can dissolve in 37.5% hydrochloric acid.

5. It has good corrosion resistance but poor water resistance, as well as poor light and heat resistance. It will decline and turn yellow after prolonged exposure to sunlight.

Garments made of nylon are prone to deformation and wrinkling.

Spinning form: mainly FDY, ATY.

Spandex (PU)

Properties: It can be stretched by 500-800%, has relatively low strength, and has good resistance to sweat, seawater, acid and alkali. It cannot be used alone as warp and weft threads and must be covered with other silk yarns.

The main forms of spandex coating include: empty coating (where spandex can be clearly seen); Machine bag (with spandex wrapped inside)

Island composite filament: It is a composite filament made by blending island filament and high shrinkage filament into a network.

High shrinkage filament: The boiling water shrinkage rate reaches 35% (so the rate of suede is very high).

Island silk: Superfine fiber, with a single fiber density of up to 0.138 (producing the velvety feel of suede).

viscose fiber (R)

Its chemical composition is the same as that of cotton, and its properties are close to those of cotton.

2. It has better moisture absorption than cotton, is easy to dye, has bright dyeing and good color fastness.

3. The wet strength is low, being 40-60% of the dry strength. The elasticity and wear resistance in the wet state are poor. Viscose fabrics are not resistant to washing and have poor dimensional stability.

Spinning form: Viscose filament - rayon - rayon

Viscose staple fiber - artificial cotton - rayon

acetate fiber

The standard moisture regain rate is 6%, and it is a semi-hydrophobic fiber.

2. Not good enough. It has a silky luster and a smooth touch.

3. Soft, prone to deformation and with poor wear resistance;

Compared with viscose, acetate fiber has lower strength, poor moisture absorption, relatively poor dyeability, and is superior to viscose fiber in terms of hand feel, elasticity, luster and warmth retention.
